Dr. Parikh has been the top-rated teacher in student evaluations across all institutes she has worked for, including Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Mumbai), and D A Institute of Information and Communication Technology (India). She also served as the Dean of Research, at Amity University (Mumbai) and as the Dean of the School of Liberal Arts at Bennett University. In addition, she is a Joint Director of Uplift India Association (a Pune-based NGO) and a Trustee of Utthan (an Ahmedabad-based NGO).
Under her leadership as the Director, the Ahmedabad-based Centre for Field Learning works on highlighting exceptional developmental ventures and also undertakes field research on a range of developmental issues.
Dr. Parikh has numerous publications on a wide variety of developmental issues. Her PhD thesis was nominated for the Best Thesis Award and her work on it using a Social Accounting Matrix for villages is considered a pioneering paper that gets read by people across the world, even after 30 years of its publication.
